AllMusic Review by

One of the most under-rated DJs in Britain, Mr. C changed the rules for your average mix album circa 2000 with Subterrain 100% Unreleased. Based on the award-winning club night he hosts at The End in London, the disc is based (as the title attests) on tracks recorded especially for the album. Thanks to the dozens of exciting DJ/producers that have appeared at the club, Mr. C was able to recruit a stellar list of producers, including Stacey Pullen, Derrick Carter, Dave Angel, Layo & Bushwacka, Gene Farris, Charles Webster, Terry Francis, and Cari Lekebusch. Punters searching for a bucketful of trance anthems or radio hits will undoubtedly be disappointed, though listeners who look a bit deeper will find 16 tracks of deep, soulful techno, mixed intelligently and with care by one of the music's best DJs. Two of the highlights come from the man himself, "Electroniche" and a remix of Mr. James Barth's "For the Lords." Subterrain 100% Unreleased definitely isn't the album for listeners who like their anthems huge and their breakdowns unmissable, but it is one of the best techno compilations of the year.
