AllMusic Review by

Friday Music's 2012 CD combines Warren Zevon's first two studio albums for Giant Records: 1991's Mr. Bad Example and its 1995 successor, Mutineer. The two albums have strikingly different feels. Mr. Bad Example is a full-blown studio affair, not so dissimilar in attitude to his classic Elektra/Asylum albums, whereas Mutineer was largely recorded by Zevon on his own and consequently sounds somewhat restrained. Nevertheless, this 1995 set has some terrific songs (the title track, the Carl Hiaasen co-written "Seminole Bingo"), as does Mr. Bad Example, which is what makes this a worthwhile two-fer.
