AllMusic Review by

The title is bad and the cover is positively abysmal, but the music on Morning Side of Love is sublime -- a fantastic collection of easy, mellow, soul and jazz grooves from the 1970s; it boasts the kind of uniform mood and nuanced pacing that more haphazardly compiled sets miss altogether. Deftly mixing vocal and instrumental tracks, as well as radio singles and overlooked album cuts, this two-CD set makes for ideal Sunday morning listening -- the music is airy and spacious, but never too light for its own good. Highlights include Minnie Riperton's amazing "Les Fleurs," Donald Byrd's "Wind Parade," Alice Coltrane's "Blue Nile," and Stan Getz's "Keep Dreaming."
