Musically, the contents on this CD are excellent. The packaging, however, is quite faulty. There is less than 28 minutes of music (nine selections from 1946 that generally clock in at the most at three minutes apiece), and nowhere are the dates or personnel given. One of the more jazz-oriented Lena Horne collections, it finds the singer often joined by bands (ranging from a combo to an orchestra) arranged by pianist Phil Moore, with occasional solos from either Karl George or Gerald Wilson on trumpet, Tyree Glenn or Murray McEachern on trombone, tenorman Lucky Thompson and altoist Willie Smith. Horne sounds wonderful on such songs as "More Than You Know," "Old Fashioned Love" and "Glad to Be Unhappy," but the results only comprise about 40% of a CD.
