AllMusic Review by

The Bob Zielinski band continue their efforts to preserve and maintain the Eastern style of polka music with their 1996 release, More Polka Memories, on the Sunshine Record label. Covering tunes made famous by the likes of Ray Budzilek and Frank Wojnarowski, this Cleveland-based group remains true to the classic sounds of tunes like "Dream" and "Ice Cubes and Beer," while instilling a technical freshness to the mix.

Guest vocalist Dave "Scrubby" Seweryniak of Buffalo's Dynatones and Joe Macielag, who once backed Wojnarowski in Buffalo, adds another new touch to these decades-old cuts. Beyond a doubt, the drumming of Pete Pietrzak, a former member of the great Budzilek band, is a highlight on this release. His work, known to most true polka aficionados, is near-legendary and stands out on his tracks. More Polka Memories is a polka music history lesson packaged into a dozen tracks of great polka music.
