Following the success of Pitch Perfect and its first volume of music, More from Pitch Perfect delivers just what the title suggests -- but with a catch. Where the first soundtrack concentrated on the vocal groups' a cappella performances, this mini-album features performances with full-band arrangements, some of which work well: Anna Kendrick's "Cups" is charming regardless of whether she's assisted by plastic cup percussion or a Top 40-friendly production, and "Bulletproof vs. Release Me" is an appealing mash-up. Speaking of the Top 40, the collection is rounded out by pop songs including Nicki Minaj's "Starships" and D'Amato's "Before We Fall in Love." While it's not quite as engaging as the soundtrack's first volume, More from Pitch Perfect should still please die-hard fans wanting more from the Barden Bellas.
