AllMusic Review by

This is a three-CD set that provides a buffet of Cole's lively song stylism. His '40s jazz singing, scat, and swinging style make for good listening. Cole dominated the pop world before Sinatra, and the best songs from the best songwriters ultimately ended up in his repertoire. This set includes such wonderful tunes as "Some Like It Hot," "It's Only a Paper Moon," and "Taint What You Do (It's the Way That Cha Do It)." Cole existed in that twilight between the decline of the big band and the rise of pop/rock. His piano-trio-popular jazz pieces remain unique as a product of this transition.
