This fun set of 15 rare garage band tracks was originally given away free with the April 2009 issue of the music magazine Mojo, and it's sure to be a delight for serious collectors of such fare. Nothing here changed the course of pop music any, and most of these tracks aren't anything you'd want to hear too many times in a row, but plenty of vintage fuzzy guitars and a whole bunch of attitude are on display here, and it's a fun listen the first time through. Highlights include the odd, queasy-sounding (and kind of spooky) "Johnny Was a Good Boy" by the Mystery Trend and the impressive (why wasn't this a hit?) garage anthem "Days of Our Time" by Bubble Puppy. Again, this set is a lot of fun to hear, and it's free if you're lucky enough get the Mojo issue, which is a pretty cool publication anyway, so there's really everything to gain, even if not every track here is exactly essential.
