Long recognized for his work in film and television, Hans Zimmer composed the music on this album for the ten-hour PBS series, Millennium: Tribal Wisdom and the Modern World. The series was developed not only to depict the drama of survival of indigenous cultures, but to explore new possibilities for our "progress-oriented" societies by trying to understand the wisdom of tribal peoples around the world. The music ranges from world beat to classical/orchestral, and many of the rich and varied themes are accented by chants recorded for the series. If you've enjoyed Zimmer's soundtracks, such as Driving Miss Daisy, Rain Man and Green Card, this collection is a must.
