AllMusic Review by

Rhino's Millennium Soul Party gathers 20 of the '60s most popular soul classics, including the Four Tops' "I Can't Help Myself," Archie Bell & The Drells' "Tighten Up," Booker T. & the MGs' "Green Onions," and Marvin Gaye's "How Sweet It Is to Be Loved By You." Clarence Carter's "Slip Away," Brenton Wood's "The Oogum Boogum Song," Aretha Franklin's "Respect," and James Brown's "I Got You (I Feel Good)" are some of the other highlights of this collection, which also includes tracks from Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, Percy Sledge, the Temptations, the Supremes, Aaron Neville, and Jackie Wilson. A consistently entertaining mix of Motown and vintage soul classics.
