Metal Thunder: Metal Meltdown is part of a voluminous series of poor '80s heavy metal compilations released cheaply by the Montreal-based St. Clair Entertainment label. The Metal Thunder series feature mostly long-forgotten metal acts that attained moderate success at best during their respective '80s zeniths. Furthermore, most of the performers were more associated with the pop-metal movement than the more influential and interesting thrash metal scene of the time, making the featured music on these volumes even more trite. The Metal Meltdown volume features Pretty Boy Floyd's "Leatherboyz," Warrant's "Sometimes She Cries," and Cinderella's "Hot and Bothered," in addition to several other songs.
