AllMusic Review by

Before releasing the somewhat disappointing album Kiss My Arp, Andrea Parker put together this rather excellent EP for MoWax. Markedly downbeat, the four excursions here are background chill-out songs with sinister charm. "Melodious Thunk" sounds like Autechre with a pulse. This particular pulse is made up of repeated rhythms and throbbing, punched melodies that make for laid-back instrumental electronic music. "Fallen Arches" continues in a similar vein but slows the beat down a bit, for more of a Kruder & Dorfmeister feel. "Atacama Giant" is more of the same, though it adds a Detroit techno sheen and ominous bass sounds. "Melted Shoe" blends industrial sound effects with a heartbeat bassline and twitching synth tones. The song owes more than a small debt to Aphex Twin's Analogue Bubblebath series of releases. At least Parker adds organic-sounding instruments to the mix. Kiss My Arp would have been a better album had Parker maintained the subtle textures on display in this fine, accessible EP.
