After her successful 2011 debut Tiempo al Tiempo put María Aguado at the forefront of the up and coming female Spanish pop singers, her 2012 sophomore effort, Me Toca a Mí, clearly seeks to consolidate her bid for Latin pop stardom. Produced by José Ramón Florez (Paulina Rubio, Andy y Lucas, Sergio Dalma, etc), the album's 12 tracks bear the signature of established songwriters such as Félix Crespo, Dani Sen, Juan Mari Montes, Gabriel Ore, or Nacho Cano, as well as two songs by Aguado herself. Musically, Me Toca a Mí has a very contemporary sound with plenty of electronica buzz in the background, and is split between romantic ballads such as the title track/first single and dance-pop numbers such as "Superstar Shine."
