The most significant characteristic of Disky's four-volume Maximum '80s series is that it features 12" mixes of all the songs included within it, which makes it different from most other '80s-themed compilations. The emphasis is on new wave and rock singles that were suited for dancefloors and, with rare exception, ignores R&B and hip-hop; this is a good way for DJs who play weddings and retro-oriented functions to snap up a whole bunch of versions that might otherwise only be available on vinyl. Each volume includes ten tracks. The fourth features Nu Shooz's "I Can't Wait," Loose Ends' "Hangin' on a String," Three Degrees' "Heaven I Need," and Stock, Aitken & Waterman's "Roadblock."
