The most significant characteristic of Disky's four-volume Maximum '80s series is that it features 12" mixes of all the songs included within it, which makes it different from most other '80s-themed compilations. The emphasis is on new wave and rock singles that were suited for dancefloors and, with rare exception, ignores R&B and hip-hop; this is a good way for DJs who play weddings and retro-oriented functions to snap up a whole bunch of versions that might otherwise only be available on vinyl. Each volume includes ten tracks. The third features Blondie's "Atomic," Ultravox's "Vienna," Power Station's "Some Like It Hot," and Pet Shop Boys' "West End Girls."
