AllMusic Review by

Much like Embracing Magnetics, the band's 1999 debut, Mathing Moonlight is over an hour of by-the-book space rock schooled in Spacemen 3 and Spiritualized. Where their influences tended to be unpredictable through applications of blues, jazz, and gospel, Novasonic Down Hyperspace settles on slow, psychedelic jams as its primary affection. With all the instruments and effects the band claims to use (chorus, theremin, windchimes, organ, glockenspiel, et al.), it's a shame they didn't do more to expand on these wispy love songs. But for devoted fans of the style, Mathing Moonlight is a calculated, interstellar delight.
