AllMusic Review by

Composer Bill Conti goes slumming with Masters of the Universe, a surprisingly rousing and appealing score to the laughably bad live-action adaptation of the He-Man cartoon and toy franchise. Regardless of the movie's negligible merits, the soundtrack affords Conti the opportunity to craft melodies of absurdly epic proportion, and it's an experience he clearly relishes. Themes like "The Power of Greyskull" and "Good Journey" are ludicrously heroic, drawing on everything from John Williams' Star Wars scores to Holst's The Planets to communicate the larger-than-life cosmic adventure of the onscreen narrative. [Silva Screen's 1992 reissue adds 27 minutes of content to the original Varèse Sarabande release.]
