AllMusic Review by

She made a jazz standard out of Hank Williams' "Cold, Cold Heart" generations before Norah Jones's reworking, reimagined Noel Coward's "Mad About the Boy" as a searing torch song, and could switch between jazz and pop material with consummate ease. This introductory best-of highlights Dinah Washington's versatility, in songs like her hit duet with Brook Benton, "A Rocking Good Way," as well as showcasing her ability to make an often-performed song like "September in the Rain" her own.
