Originally from Vancouver, B.C., the Toronoto-based Molestics are a tongue-in-cheek band that enjoys "manufacturing hokum," which for them is cheesy lounge numbers complete with muttering lead vocalists. There are a half-dozen musicians making up this group and all the vocals are male. Hot jazz and ragtime are also this group's forte. Musical styles of the '20s and '30s, especially early forms of jazz and big band, are the contributing elements to the group's formula. These goofy hipsters even weave Hawaiian and Western swing elements into their entertaining mix.
