The tenor saxophonist and bandleader Freddy Martin had a successful five-decade career that spanned playing in Manhattan hotels as well as radio and TV appearances and a stint as Elvis Presley's musical director. This collection, recorded in the mid 1950s, features vocal contributions from none other than a youthful Merv Griffin on a set of sophisticated dance music that includes such standards as "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes," "Look for the Silver Lining," and "Stella By Starlight."
