AllMusic Review by

The Platters were among the most elegant (and certainly the most commercially successful) doo-wop groups of the '50s. Their greatest hits--including the operatically intense "Great Pretender" and "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes"--are among the most memorable records of the period, due in large part to the instantly recognizable voice of lead tenor Tony Williams.

This album collects stereo re-recordings of their best-known numbers, although there's no information about the group personnel; it could be Williams or a very good sound-alike. In any case, unless you're a complete purist, this should do very nicely.
