Universal Honey serves up MOR rock distinguished by Leslie Stanwyck's pleasantly low soprano. She is usually backed by jangly guitars and restrained drums, as well as by occasional horns and strings. Sometimes the guitars and drums take on a hard rock edge that doesn't comport well with Stanwyck's voice (and which detracts from the originality of the sound). "Upfront With You" sounds a bit like Poe. None of the other tracks stand out, but they are pleasant sounding.
