Maestros del Piano: Cuban Style is a collection of piano pieces performed or arranged in a Latin style. Most of these take equal influence from jazz and Latin music, mostly just mixing the two musical styles. Occasionally the music ventures towards classical territory, but the salsa drumming and rhythms usually keep everything pretty Cuban oriented. The album itself is pretty average; despite the interesting experimentation found here, it all still sounds like a lot of music that is already out there. Fans of instrumental piano music may want to give this a listen, as well as those who may be a fan of the tracks. But this is not an easy album to digest, and probably will not win over anyone who does not have any experience with the genre.
