AllMusic Review by

The ambitious second volume in a decades-spanning collection of Cuban music helmed by EMI, Made in Cuba, Vol. 2 offers 30 tracks from the past 75 years. Though the compilers jump several decades for a few transitions from track to track, the compilation is well worth it for Latin fans looking for a good retrospective of Cuban pop. Highlights come from all over, though a few shine above even those: "Fiebre" by La Lupe, "Sangre de Conga" by Trio Matamoros, "Mambo No. 5" by Pérez Prado, "Son de la Loma/Veneración" by Willy Chirino, and "Mami Me Gustó" by Arsenio Rodríguez. There are only a few disappointments, like neglecting the prime of Cachao's career for a pair of later tracks by the bassist.
