The fourth of Misterioso's four LPs that fully document several bop sessions once again has alternate takes outnumbering songs. In a quartet session continued from Misterioso 1983, baritonist Leo Parker is featured on three songs including three versions of "Mad Lad Returns." Pianist Al Haig's trio is heard struggling to record a trio of songs (there are plenty of false starts) while the swinging tenor Zoot Sims performs three versions of his original "Trotting" with a quartet. Obviously this set (and the three previous Misterioso LPs) is principally for bop fanatics who have to have everything.
