Love's Thunder Review

by AllMusic

LOVE'S THUNDER features Ravi Singh embarking on his first musical recording. As a leading teacher of Kundalini yoga and a prolific author, Singh brings a wealth of insight and knowledge. Singh chants and plays guitar and gong. Jo Hook provides additional vocals and harmonium. On LOVE'S THUNDER, seven Kundalini mantras are chanted over relaxed guitar lines and the soothing drone of a harmonium. "Prana Apana Sushmana Hari" has an infectious guitar pattern beneath repetitive chants. "Har Haray Hari Wahe Guru" is full of blissful chord changes. The only song sung in English, "Long Song To The One I Love," is striking in its sincerity and emotional gravity. "Gong" closes the album with an instrumental wash of gong sounds that creates a place of deep relaxation. LOVE'S THUNDER is an extremely enjoyable and mood-altering guide, a perfect companion for yoga practice.
