Yet another album of covers by the infamous Countdown Singers rather than the collection of well-known hits that it parades itself as, All You Need Is Love would indeed be a rather impressive collection had the featured songs actually been the original versions. Consider some of the songs here: "My Heart Will Go On," "You're Still the One," "How Do I Live," and numerous other sentimental, tear-jerking slow-dance anthems that Middle America can never seem to get enough of. Still, as bitter as you may be about this album trying to pull a fast one on you, you really have to stop and commend the Countdown Singers for their performance here. As they've proven on countless other rip-off albums in the past, they may not be the real thing, but they sure are a good cover group. They even show some ambition here, giving the eternal "My Heart Will Go On" a nifty, and debatably blasphemous, lite electronica remix. But even whether or not you can appreciate the Countdown Singers, you can't help but wonder whether your time, let alone your money, could be better spent elsewhere on music with a little more heart.
