Volume two of this series has just over 26 minutes of music, including tracks by Cowboy Copas, Hawkshaw Hawkins, Johnnie & Jack with Kitty Wells, Ernest Tubb, the Maddox Brothers and Rose, and more, all recorded live on "The Louisiana Hayride" in the '50s and '60s. The Jordanaires are again granted two tracks, and the lesser-known Mallie Ann and the Plainsmen Quartet are included probably because of the superior sound quality of their recordings. Like the other volumes in the series, the sound quality throughout ranges from abysmal to somewhat acceptable, and the package lacks specific liner notes and recording dates. If not for the historical value of these recordings, the package would be a complete waste, except even that modest value is relevant only to serious collectors and historians.
