AllMusic Review by

Louie Bellson led a strong group for the 1976 Concord Jazz Fesitival that was comprised of trumpeter Blue Mitchell, tenor saxophonist Pete Christlieb, trombonist Dick Nash, pianist Ross Tompkins, the young guitarist Grant Geissman and bassist John Williams. The septet's wide-ranging set included an original apiece by Christlieb and Mitchell (both of whom consistently took solo honors), a five-song ballad medley, a showcase for Bellson on "Roto Blues" and a lengthy jam on "Dig." Fine straight-ahead music played with spirit.
