Here's a breath of fresh air to blow the Caribbean out of its Sargasso Sea of programmed dance rhythms. This isn't the roots-punta of Belize, but a new pop version that comes off as a sort of mix between Soca and Zouk with extra heavy percussion and minimal interference from the melody. It's very much a Pan-American style with touches of merengue and gwo-ka among others. There are no drum machines, no flab and no foolin'!
