Utilizing new jack swing and hip-hop rhythm tracks, Lorenzo brings much vocal energy to the majority of his self-titled album. "Real Love" and "Saving My Love" are nice uptempo numbers with good verse patterns and catchy hook lines. "Real Love" is the highest charted single for Lorenzo; it peaked at number six on the Billboard R&B charts. The slowest cuts on the album are "Make Love 2 Me" and "I Can't Stand the Pain." (Billboard R&B: #21 and #22, respectively). While the former has more street feel, the latter is adult-oriented. The most attractive number on the album is the previously released "Tic Tok." Forfeiting the juvenile sound he bears on some of the album fillers, Lorenzo attacks the lyric head-on and croons his way through this passionate number.
