The soundtrack to this 1970 film dates itself with fuzzy guitar and Blood, Sweat and Tears-like horn breaks with socially aware lyrics. Setting these trappings aside, we recognize Loot as a document of the clarion, crystalline voice of pop vocalist Steve Ellis. This was Ellis' first project after leaving Love Affair, and it pre-dates his 1970s solo career on CBS. Keith Mansfield skillfully wrote the music. It blends great timbre variety and constantly shifting arrangements. This is among his legendary film music works.
