Llévame Contigo Review

by AllMusic

With LLEVAME CONTIGO the cowboy-hat-and-fringe-jacket-wearing boys of Intocable have done it again. A traditional Tejano opener gives way to a chirpy mix of accordion and drumbeats on "Ya Ves." The confident voice of singer Ricardo Munoz eases his way in and out of harmonies with backup from vocalist Johnny Lee Rosas. Listeners both north and south of the border will listen with pleasure to the dreamy, rolling rhythm of Por Un Beso, as Ricardo contemplates just what he'd give for one kiss from his amor. Chock-full of heart-melting and passionate ballads, this album is perfect for a first date. The beat doubles up oom-pah-pah style on "Meido" and "En Mil Pedazos," and returns with a surprising mambo twist on "En Las Garras De Tu Corazon." Alternately romantic and cheerful, Intocable's LLEVAME CONTIGO serves up a distinctly modern and Mexican-inspired sound.
