A lackluster album recorded in the mid-'70s, Livetime proves that part of the success of Hall & Oates' singles lies in the studio, where they can carefully craft both the song and its presentation. In concert, many of the same songs fall flat, as the group tries to replicate its polished studio sound to little avail.
