AllMusic Review by

This is the finest record ever recorded by the World's Greatest Jazz Band, an exciting Dixieland nonet consisting in 1970 of trumpeters Yank Lawson and Billy Butterfield, trombonists Vic Dickenson and Lou McGarity, Bob Wilber on clarinet and soprano, tenor saxophonist Bud Freeman, pianist Ralph Sutton, bassist Bob Haggart, and drummer Gus Johnson. Reissued on CD with a previously unreleased version of "Just One of Those Things" (which features Freeman and Wilber), this live set has many high points: an explosive version of "That's A-Plenty," Lawson's playing on "Five Point Blues," a rambunctious "My Honey's Lovin' Arms," heated trumpet solos on "Come Back Sweet Papa," and Dickenson's showcase on "Constantly." This gem is highly recommended, even for listeners who may not think they like Dixieland.
