Obnoxious and proud of it, Pigmy Love Circus takes an aggressively punk-influenced approach to heavy metal and hard rock on this self-titled album -- which was recorded live at Raji's (a Hollywood nightclub) in 1990. Lead singer Michael Savage brings a great deal of crude, sneering personality to such amusing, tongue-in-cheek fare as "Madhouse Clown," "Brutish Lout," "Face-Bit-Dog" and "Dagwood Killed Blondy." Obviously, this obscure L.A. band (which enjoyed a small underground following in the early '90s) has but one goal: to be fun and outrageously entertaining. And the group accomplishes that goal quite nicely on this loud-and-proud recording.
