This is a solid effort by New Hampshire alt-country band Say Zuzu. The group plays an uplifting, non-ironic brand of Americana, and this live release is a great introduction to highlights from their first three albums. The effort kicks off with "Highway Signs," a rousing slice of roots rock from the group's first release, 1995's Highway Signs & Driving Songs. Other highlights include the wistful ballad "I Know Him Well," featuring nice backup harmonies and chiming guitar leads, and the crunchy straight-ahead rock of "The Farm." This rousing live performance is well worth a listen to any fan of the more rocking side of the No Depression camp (particularly fans of Whiskeytown).
