Making rousing, melodic punk rock with a reggae influence, Stiff Little Fingers are a strong live force even on album. Live Inspiration is made up of live performances from the band, and they have an energy that is infectious and powerful. The only problem is the sound quality, which definitely suffers, especially on the second disc. They manage to overcome the audio problems for the most part, but the album would have been more vital with a clearer mix. As it stands, this is a fun punk rock album that doesn't take itself too seriously but still manages to entertain with some politics thrown in for good measure. It may not substitute for a best-of package, but it does go to show how good punk music can be in a live setting.
