Recorded in November of 1993, Live in Tokyo saw limited release on CD in Japan on K.K. Null's Nux Organization label, and bootlegged copies on vinyl surfaced later in the U.K. The only measurable hindrance is that Steve Albini's vocals tend to go in and out, but this has as much to do with technical difficulties as it does with his wild guitar playing. Albini even quips after "The Admiral" that "It's a good thing we're a vocals-optional band." And how: the playing comes off nearly as tight here as it does on their studio work. Included is seven-tenths of At Action Park and all five songs off their first two 7" releases. Most memorable banter: Albini chastising the crowd for not being present at a three-cushion billiard tournament down the block.
