This is a condensed, single-disc version of the concerts found on the double-CD British import release (on Angel Air) All the Way From Stockholm to Philadelphia: Live 71/72. This too includes material from their February 16, 1971, concert in Stockholm and their November 29, 1972, show in Philadelphia. On the Angel Air release, however, a single disc was devoted to each show. As a consequence, four songs were given the hook in the transition to the single-CD format: "Jerkin' Circus" and "Ready for Love" (from 1972) and "Long Red" and "Keep a Knockin'" (from 1971), which were all on the Angel Air version, are not included here. If you're a serious Mott the Hoople fan -- which, presumably, most consumers that buy an archive release of this sort are -- you'd probably rather get the Angel Air configuration, which in addition to the extra songs has more comprehensive liner notes and pictures, though it'll be harder to find and more expensive. On the other hand, you really don't lose that much by settling for this U.S. variation, which does still have 76 minutes of music. The disc is a well-recorded representation of their early-'70s repertoire, though the songs from the 1972 set are clearly advanced from the ones in the 1971 show.
