AllMusic Review by

A batch of early Commodores recordings -- including covers of the Intruders' "Cowboys to Girls" and Sly & the Family Stone's "Sing a Simple Song," along with the band's 1969 debut single -- has been circulated by numerous labels that have no affiliation with Atlantic or Motown. Released in 2000 by a label called Columbia River (not to be confused with major label Columbia), this is one of them, and it contains the same assortment of studio material, even though the title indicates otherwise. This release, as with the others, should be avoided.
