AllMusic Review by

A Christmas concert with Spear of Destiny firmly at the peak of their powers, Live at the Lyceum is a gravity defying ride through the best of the band's three albums to date, from the opening war cries of "Rainmaker" on. The sheer energy that this band was capable of generating on a good night bleeds out of the speakers; crank it up loud enough and it's almost like you're there, as vocals duel with maddened sax, percussion thunders straight between your eyes, and the most anthemic of Spear's studio performances (the immortal "Come Back" for one) sounds almost anaemic by comparison. Vivacious and violent, this is Spear preaching to the converted, while the converted howl back with equal power; and the one-two punch of "Liberator" and "Prisoner of Love" will ring in your ears forever, or at least until you reach the final encore, the most pulsating "Westworld" you ever did see.
