AllMusic Review by

One of the top post-war British jazz musicians of his generation, trumpeter Kenny Baker moved from big-band work in the '40s to leading his own ensemble in the '50s. The 2014 two-disc collection, Live at the BBC 1957, captures Baker during two live appearances on the BBC Radio program "Let’s Settle For Music" in 1957. Joining Baker here are such British jazz luminaries as vibraphonist Bill Le Sage, trombonist George Chisholm, saxophonist Harry Klein, and others. This is superb British jazz that walks the line between old-school swing and bop.
