A live webcast was the excuse for Slightly Stoopid's visit to the Grateful Dead and Bob Weir's state-of-the-art recording studio, but Live at Roberto's TRI Studios feels more like a vintage concert album than a product of the Internet age. With guest appearances from Weir, Ivan Neville, Ian Neville, Karl Denson, and Don Carlos along with Tommy Chong as MC, you can think of the Band's great live album The Last Waltz, but the two sets here (one electric, one acoustic) aren't tearful goodbyes, but laid-back groove sessions that hold appeal for Deadheads, Parrotheads, Stoopidheads, and such. Besides the downloadable versions there's a CD/DVD set that adds interviews with Chong and the group, plus some proceeds are given to the Save the Children and World Food Programme charities, so that feel-good feeling keeps flowing even after the music has stopped.
