AllMusic Review by

On July 16, 2011, Deep Purple (in their Mk VIII lineup with Ian Gillan, Steve Morse, Roger Glover, Don Airey, and Ian Paice) performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival with orchestral backing by the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt, conducted by Stephen Bentley-Klein. Live at Montreux 2011 documents the concert as a two-CD set and as a DVD or Blu-ray (the latter two featuring an interview with the band as a bonus), with a set list that includes classic songs such as "Smoke on the Water," "Highway Star," "Hush," and "Strange Kind of Woman," but also some less frequently played songs ("Hard Lovin' Man," "When a Blind Man Cries").
