AllMusic Review by

An extraordinary addition to the discography of Evan Parker, the saxophonist is joined by Noel Akchoté on amplified guitar, Lawrence Casserley on signal processing instruments, and Joel Ryan on computer. Parker plays soprano saxophone exclusively, but with the computer delays, repetitions, feedback loops, and distortions, his patented voice is barely recognizable. Nonetheless, the results are fascinating, with waves of layered sound floating among weird esoteric computer rumblings. Parker is such an astonishing performer that he is constantly exploring new dimensions in unusual ways. This recording focuses on electronics, with only glimpses of the usual astonishing Parkerisms. Instead, the listener is treated to a range of transformed sound and adventurous rhythm and harmony. Wildly cosmic, though occasionally static, Parker proves again why he is a master of the modern idiom.
