Despite the muddiness in the recording, Fats punches it in with 320 pounds of high-energy, gut-wrenching blues. Listen to Fats' harmonica as he leads the band's rhythm section on "Boogie All the Way." Guesting on the Ray Charles hit "Georgia On My Mind," Papa John Creach wails a romantic treatment coupled with Hollis Gilmore's soulful sax. It's little wonder "Tore Up" was such a big hit for Fats -- he roars life into the Hank Ballard penning. You can feel the fans filled with heightened vibes in "Harmonica Fats Blows," making one wish he or she were dancing along with Fats. However, on the finale, Robert Johnson would cringe if he heard the vocals on "Walkin' Blues."
