Live Alone! Discovering Japan isn't all that different than Live! Alone in America. Parker runs through a set largely comprised of his classics, adding some newer material in for good measure. It's an engaging disc -- he remains not only a convincing performer, but also something of a showman, cracking jokes throughout the album -- but it's only of interest to hardcore fans, who will find it a pleasant, but decidedly minor, addition to their collection.
