This CD gets its name because it features a trio consisting of bassist Michel Donato, pianist Milcho Leviev, and drummer Michel Lambert. The well-integrated trio performs seven originals (three by Donato and two apiece by Leviev and Lambert), plus Dizzy Gillespie's "Con Alma." The communication is impressive between the musicians, with the advanced but straight-ahead material covering a variety of moods. Although none of these Canadian musicians are well-known in the United States, their music should be of strong interest to modern jazz followers.
