AllMusic Review by

In 1961, Eddy Mitchell burst onto the French music scene with his band Les Chaussettes Noires ("The Black Socks") and quickly became one of Europe's biggest rock & roll stars, selling over two million records after "Daniela" became the first of six hit singles they'd release in their first year as stars. In 2007, Mitchell was still making records and performing for adoring crowds, and this collection includes 50 of his best-known tunes. 50 Plus Belles Chansons is a three-disc set that includes the songs "C'est Un Rocker," "Pas de Boogie Woogie," "Pauvre Baby Doll," "La Peau d'Une Autre," "Je Chante Pour Ceux Qui Ont Le Blues," "Coeur Solitaire," and many more.
